Donna is from Clay, West Virginia. She is a highly accomplished and dynamic professional whose multifaceted career spans various industries and roles, marked by numerous pioneering achievements and community contributions. A distinguished alumna of West Virginia Wesleyan College, West Virginia Technical College, and West Virginia State College, Donna has leveraged her extensive education to break barriers and lead innovative changes in her field. As the first woman to own a salvage yard in West Virginia, Donna has consistently demonstrated her leadership and forward-thinking approach. She revolutionized the industry by implementing the first computerized inventory system and subsequently established the first salvage yard in the state with an online inventory. These groundbreaking advancements not only modernized the operations of salvage yards in West Virginia but also set new standards for the industry nationwide. In addition to her entrepreneurial achievements, Donna is an accomplished grant writer, with a proven track record since 1993. She has successfully secured and administered over $650,000 in grant funding, significantly contributing to various community projects and initiatives. Her expertise in grant writing has been instrumental in driving growth and development in Clay County and beyond. Donna's commitment to community service is reflected in her numerous leadership roles. As the inaugural Director of the Clay Family Resource Network, she laid the foundation for a vital community resource that continues to support families in the area. Currently, she serves as the Vice President of the Clay Lions Club and the Treasurer of the Clay Family Resource Network, where she continues to influence positive change and foster community engagement. Her dedication to education and youth development is evident through her involvement with the Clay County High School Parent Advisory Council and her volunteer work with the Clay 4H Program. Donna's past roles include serving as the Secretary of Clay County Services Unlimited Inc., a member of the Clay Parks and Recreation Board, and the Clay Solid Waste Authority. These positions highlight her versatile expertise and unwavering commitment to improving her community. Donna's professional journey includes diverse roles such as Accounting Supervisor, Public Relations Manager, Director's Assistant, and Nursing Assistant. Beyond her professional and community endeavors, Donna actively participates in environmental initiatives through her volunteer work with Clean Up Clay County. She has been married for 41 years to her husband Jerry. She is the mother of three. She has three grandchildren and her daughter will attend her first year of college in the fall. The Program Assistant supports the daily operations of the Family Support Center by assisting with program coordination, data entry, outreach activities, and client services. This role helps ensure that families have access to needed resources and that programs run efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities include maintaining records, supporting events and classes, communicating with community partners, and providing administrative support to staff and participants.
