Raleigh County 

Jennifer currently serves as the Director of the Raleigh County Healthy Families’ Alliance & Support Center, and is a Community Outreach, Resource, and Education Specialist for Community Connections, Inc. Jennifer has spent over 20 years helping those who struggle with addiction issues, mental health disorders and serving the public with substance abuse prevention, intervention, and recovery. Jennifer holds multiple degrees, including a Bachelor’s of Science, Master’s in Professional Studies, and a Master’s in Leadership. Jennifer educates herself daily on advancements in the fields of prevention, addition, and recovery. She continues to study the Science of Addiction and its' impacts on our society, as well as evidence-based practices in prevention and recovery techniques. In her personal life, Jennifer loves spending time with her young daughter, her two adult daughters, and her four grandchildren. She coaches little league soccer and volunteers at other events, in addition to kayaking, biking, reading, and continuously learning.

Shayla Sprowls serves as the Program Coordinator at Raleigh County Healthy Families Alliance and Support Center (RCHFA&SC), where she ensures the community's needs are met through her dedicated management of the center's various pantries containing food, hygiene, baby, and clothing items. Born and raised in Monroe County, Shayla graduated from James Monroe High School in 2020, bringing a deep-rooted understanding of local challenges and strengths to her role. With her personal experiences and her willingness to work alongside prevention and recovery professionals, including the Director of the current RCHFA&SC, she has found her calling in using her work ethic and knowledge to those we serve in our communities and schools. Beyond her operational duties, Shayla actively represents the center at various community events, fostering connections and partnerships to enhance support services throughout Raleigh County. In her leisure time, she finds joy in reading, attending concerts, and cherishing moments with her loved ones. Shayla's commitment to community service and her proactive approach makes her an invaluable asset to RCHFA&SC and the people it serves.

Amie Van Devender serves as the Office Manager at Raleigh County Healthy Families Alliance and Support Center (RCHFASC), where she brings a wealth of administrative experience from office administrative roles in the federal government and private sector. Having relocated to Raleigh County, W.VA. five years ago from Arizona with her family, Amie is committed to supporting the community by fostering a nurturing environment where families can thrive, learn, and succeed in every level of their family lives. By leveraging her skills to ensure smooth operations and impactful support services, Amie keeps the Center operating on a daily schedule and providing more and more services to the families in Raleigh County. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring West Virginia's natural beauty and participating in community events. She also enjoys practical jokes and having a good time and lots of laughs with her family and friends.
