Boone County 

Dakota Smith is the Director of Boone County FSC. Dakota was drawn to non-profit work after taking time to re-evaluate and adjust his goals during time off due to the COVID -19 shutdown. During this time, Dakota discovered that his primary values - time with family, serving others, and working to improve his community - were his true path to happiness and fulfillment. Dakota has two children, Raelyn and Sila, who, along with their mother, fill his life with love and direction. They love spending time together in the outdoors, enjoying activities like hiking and kayaking. Dakota is a self-proclaimed "nerd", and loves to learn new things. Much of his free-time is spent studying philosophy, psychology, and religion/spirituality. Ethics and personal growth is the primary focus of his studies.
